Speaking anxiety, also known as glossophobia, is the intense fear of public speaking. It can lead to physical symptoms such as trembling hands, sweating, a dry mouth and a pounding heart. This anxiety can undermine your self-confidence and keep you from showing your best self.
Tips to Overcome Speaking Anxiety.
Preparation is the Key: Good preparation reduces anxiety. Know your topic and your audience. This will help you be confident during your presentation.
Practice Regularly: Practice your speech several times in front of a mirror, recording or in front of a friend. This helps you become familiar with your words and your voice.
Breathing Exercises: Deep breathing reduces anxiety. Inhale slowly through your nose, hold your breath for a moment and exhale slowly through your mouth.
Use Body Language: Stand up straight, make eye contact and use gestures to present yourself powerfully.
Seek Support: Get support from a professional to actually address your speaking anxiety.
